I have done PGDIT from symbiosis distance learning after my bachelor degree from the year 2008 -2010 which was of 2 years but i completed in 3 years (2011) due to some backlogs. So is it considered or not for ECA. Will i get points for that too?

I believe distance learning is not considered for points by WES
Very wrong!
I did my Masters online distance learning - fully recognized by WES as equivalent to Canadian Masters.
I advise OP to get the degree evaluated by WES if the institution is not in Canada

One of my friend has done Masters through distance learning. he was given Bachelor degree by WES.
There are so many things WES considers, suppose one has done BSc in Physics and he goes for MBA in HR then it is not considered as Masters, rather they specify it as Bachelor equivalent and MBA degree is awarded as another completed Diploma.

there is no harm in trying luck with WES. may be they will recognize it as Masters

You can check it on WES website whether symbiosis can be selected as university for free.I would definitely give it a try by submitting the application as most of the distance programs are regogonised.

Not true again!
I did Bachelor in Engineering full time and MBA online distance Learning. WES gave me Masters equivalent in Canada.
The IMPORTANT thing is the institution where this distance learning is done. Not all distance learning programs are considered to be legitimate/equivalent to real full/part time education. There are several things WES considers in making that judgement.
What I advise is for OP to try and see if the institution is internationally known and has a good chance of being recognized as Canadian equivalent.

What the other guy said is not 'not true". Sometimes it seems like a luck of the draw with WES. they may consider it an MBA in some cases and not in some. I am an example. I did an mba from a business school, which was not considered by WES. Others have attended similar institutios on this forum have reced an ECA for MBA. I have contested their decision for now. But it isnt always straight forward.

To the OP, i suggest you give them a call. There are a lot of institutions, which are not listed on the WES website but might be accepted.

SCDL is not recognized by WES. I did my PGDHRM from Symbiosis but WES did not consider it for Canadian equivalency.
