Hello fellow bureaucratic adventurers,
I would be grateful if you could help me to figure out an Express Entry PR application riddle.

Summary:
Invitation to apply: received
Applied: June 17, 2017
Acknowledgement of Receival: June 18, 2017
Application update - medical examination passed: August 18, 2017

Since then, nothing happened. They did not ask for my passport yet.
Application Status ECAS check (at this link https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/authenticate.do?app=ecas ): Still it says no info is available.

QUESTIONS:

1) Is it absolutely sure that I will be asked to send my passport? Do they ask this to each and every applicant?

2) Do they ask for the fingerprints to each and every applicant?

3) If the answer to the above questions is yes, then why do they use the conditional, for example:

“Biometrics: We do not need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes”

4) Saying like this means that they will ask for biometrics only IF this changes. So, it’s also possible it will not change. Correct?

They also say:
“Review of additional documents: We do not need additional documents”. Here they did not add “we will send you a message if this changes”.

5) Does it mean they are not going to ask it? They say they are already checking the background check. Maybe they figured they did not need the passport and went to the background check. Correct?

6) What's the order they do these things? Like passport first, then fingerprints, or what?

PANIC FACTOR: I already have a round trip flight booked to go back to my country on December 15th .
If they’ll ask for the passport close to that date, I’ll be in big trouble, as I won’t be able to leave without my passport!
7) Any suggestion about this?

Thank you guys!

Only when the officer reaches to a decision and your application is approved. Before that, why would CIC need you passport?

No fingerprints are required. If they need it, they will ask you for it. I assume you have already submitted your PCCs.

3) If the answer to the above questions is yes, then why do they use the conditional, for example:
“Biometrics: We do not need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes”
This is just a generic statement. If they need it, they will ask you for it.

Passport is the last step after approval.

PANIC FACTOR: I already have a round trip flight booked to go back to my country on December 15th .

If approved, you will have 30 days to send your passport and you can ask for an extension.

Relax, you are overthinking. PR process is lengthy and needs patience.

Wow thank you eng.ahamdi, much appreciated.
I asked about the passport because I don't know the reason why they need it. So I thought it was simply part of the approval process, to check the real thing.

Thanks.
