I'm Dreaming of July/2015
hi there

I red from the cic that being out with a canadian spouse (whatever the reason is ) considered as a physical presence in canada

so lets say i let my wife in canada after geting pr and she stays theire and i come and go than after 3 years when she become a citizen can she move with me and i will become citizen after 3 years of staying outside with her??!!!

No, being with a canadian spouse outside only help you maintain your PR residency. Citizenship requires physical residence in Canada.

thanks alot steaky for your answer , yet i have another question plz

lets say if my wife stay in canada for 3 years and get the citizenship , will this mean once she is citizen by t i'm instantly protected from losing my pr ???as i wont be able to maintain 2/5 years due to my work oustside canada

so if she come and live with me after she become canadian is it possible i dont lose my pr or i also have to accumulate 2/5 years liiving with her ???

i'm asking this becoz when she is supposed to get her citizenship around the fourth year i will only have 1 year left on the pr and even if she come directly and live with me then those days living together also wont reach the 2/5 years so will this help or not

plz help of the experts and your opinion to solve this problem

Once your wife becomes a citizen, only the days she spends living with you outside of Canada count towards your 2/5 years.

Also, keep in mind that once your wife qualifies for citizenship and submits her application, it will take more than a year for her citizenship application to be processed and for her to obtain citizenship.

thnx to the expert scylla for your help aloooot , as i thought after she become a citizen i'm protected

anyway could you help me with this question

1 if she become a citizen and i lose my pr then could i apply for a new pr and how long does it take

2 if my wife just maintained her residency 2/5 and renewed her could that help me after my card expires??

1 - Yes, if your wife can sponsor you if your PR status is lost. How long this takes will depend on whether you apply inland or outland - and what country you are from. Assuming you apply outland, the processing time will be about one month plus whatever amount of time it takes based on the country you are from. See here for country times: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/fc-spouses.asp

2 - If your wife keeps her PR status and yours is lost, she can apply to sponsor you (same process as above). However as a PR, she will have to be living in Canada while the application is processed.

thanks alot you are the man , things are much more clear to make my paln now

but please what do you mean by inland and outland ?? do you mean me being outside of canada and inside?does it differ in timing ?

thnx again

Yes - inland is if you are in Canada.

Outland can be used if you are either inside our outside Canada.

The different processing times are here:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp

i just noted from your profile your a female!!! so thank you my lady as usuall

i checked the processing inside canada and its almost the double if somone live outsid!!! isnt that weird it take them 9 month for initial step while outside its 40 days!!!

also does these pathways are the same to a person who had a pr before , i mean concerning the security detailes and other things , isnt it supposed to be faster when my wife sponsor me if i had a previous pr

i wish you always find nice and helpful people like you in your life :)

It doesn't matter if you had PR before or not. The process is the same. You will have to submit police certificates and medicals all over again - along with the application and other supporting documents. Hope this helps.

more than enough thanks dear

actually scylla i will be alittle more greedy

i wanted to ask youwhat do you think is the best option for me , the thing is my country is a very unstable coutry and being a specialist doctor already its very difficult for me to work in the same speciality in canada and my job is good but i'm afraid my country situation gets bad again and it happend before when we escaped 7 yeras ago and we couldnt get a visa for any country

now we returned but i learned a lesson a passport or pr is very important for my family so if anything comes up we can directly escape to canada but i cant for sure in the first 5 years stay for 2yrs, i may let my wife and work back at my home country and go back and forward but it seems difficult

what do you recommend we do so me and my family will always have a chance to get entrance to canada if all doors get closed in our face like before

sorry for the long message , your opinion is really appreciated

It sounds like you are facing some difficult choices. I don't feel that I can tell you what the best option is for you. This is something that you and your wife will have to decide together after looking at all of the options available.

However if you want to make sure that Canada's doors are always open to both you and your wife, then at a minimum, you'll need to make sure that both of you maintain your PR status by living in Canada 2 out of every 5 years.

Good luck.
