Does applying for OWP puts you in implied status

Hi

I got married in Feb and visited my spouse in Canada in May 2016 on Visitor visa.
I applied for Inland PR together with Open Work Permit in May 2016
Now my Visitor Visa stay expires in Oct end , do i need to file for a visitor visa extension or applying for OWP puts me in an implied status automatically.

Hi

You will have Implied Status.

That said, as it has been about 5 months since you applied and you still haven't received your OWP, you should contact IRCC and find out what is going on .
