Does an employer need to advertise before an AEO

hi,everyone,
My brother is a PR of Canada n has got a company registered to his name.He wants to send me or my spouse an AEO.I just need to know tht before doing so does he need to advertise for tht particular job OR he can just send the AEO letter to HRSDC for verification.I want to make it clear tht he ll be applying for an AEO n NOT THE WORK PERMIT for any of us,plus both,me n my spouse dnt belong to IT.Expert advise r needed.

He does not have to advertise. However his company must meet some requirements.

valioiko already gave you the link on how to apply for AEO and if you look at that page as well as the application form, you can see that it doesn't say anything about advertising, only the following criteria:

* The job offer is permanent;
* The job offer is genuine;
* The wages and working conditions offered for the job are comparable to those offered to Canadians working in the occupation;
* The employment is full-time, not seasonal.


Your brother needs to fill out the application form and send it to HRSDC along with the job offer, then get the AEO letter and send it to you.

Thanks Leon.Yes u r right ,exactly the link does not say anything abt advertising(neither YES nor NO),so in order to remove my ambiguity , i needed another opinion.I m extremly grateful to u for the confirmation.

Apart from standard requirements, they check in background that offer is genuine one or not.
They do all exercise to declare it ingenuine one.
They will ask the employer on how did you find this person.
Now employer will tell that the person is relative, then they may take another hard decisions to prove themselves right.
The employer needs to follow up vigourously to prove the offer genuine.

The above scenario has recently been in air when offers were questionable.
