Does a strong bank statement help?

My question is, does a strong bank statement improve ur chances of a student visa clearance?

The requirement is 1 year tuition fees plus $10,000 for a year.
My tuition fees is $7240, i have paid half of it already. So that brings it to $17,240

I showed a bank statement of $110,000. I live in Muscat, basically a Pakistani. And i applied thru muscat to the Abu Dhabi Consulate.

Also, i was rejected a student visa for the UK in 2008 because the college i applied to didnt really offer a foundation course. They just took money and thats all. That was the reason on my visa refusal. Will that actually create a problem for my canadian visa?

Dont think so...on the application form that question was "have u been refused on a canadian visa before?" and the two countries are entirely diff.

I stated in that, that yes i was refused a visa for the UK in 2008

Yes. A strong bank statement will definitely be a plus for your application and VO will not have any doubt regarding your financial support. Like the saying goes "the more the merrier"

No no no. You are not understanding the question. It is asking whether you have ever been "asked to leave" or "refused entrance" to any country. Sometimes, there are cases where the individual gets rejected at the immigration (at the airport) of the visiting country or forced to leave the country for stuffs like breaking policies or carrying illegal materials and stuffs. Getting refused for a visa doesn't mean any of that. You just have to say "NO" to this question. Refusal for UK visa will not play any part in your visa processing.

Is that goin to mess things up?

Now that I cannot tell whether or not it will have any impact. But you have given a wrong information in the wrong place in the form. You should have written about this matter before submitting the form. These forms are sometimes very tricky!!!

You were not being honest or anything over here. You just gave them wrong information since that field is for something different (mentioned in my last post). There is nothing being honest by providing improper information in wrong fields.
