Hello, I'm a Canadian citizen who was previously married but now divorced. I'd like to sponsor my common law partner who is Japanese. In question #17 of the Sponsor Questionnaire (IMM 5540), the instructions tell me to submit a copy of my divorce papers. Does this mean that I should attach the "Decree Nisi"? In my partner's instructions (person to be sponsored) it tells her to attach the decree nisi, but in the Sponsor's guide, there is no mention of this. Does anyone know?? Thank you!!

If you have a divorce certificate you need to attach it and this should go in with your documents, if your common law partner is also divorced she will also need to attach her divorce certificate and being she is from Japan it will require a official translation to occupany it. Hope that helps :)
