Doe my husband need to extend his visa after he has got his open work permit?

Hi, guys,
My husband and daughter came to Canada to visit my with temporary resident visa which will expire in September 2011. Now, my husband has got his open work and my daughter has got her study permit, both of which will expire July 2012.
My question is do they still need to extend their visa?
