Hi
I am trying to apply for Canada Immigration under the Federal skilled worker category.
One of the forms to be filled is
Schedule 3 - Economic Classes - FSW

One of the question in the form states 'have you taken an approved test to assess your proficiency in English or French? and the options are Yes, then send the copy of the approved test results and No, then provide evidence of your proficiency in Canada's official language.
My question is do I need to send the test results now along with the intial application to Sydney, NS? If no, then do I need to take the exam now before I send the application itself since you can see the question asked here makes you mandatory to take the exam before sending the application.
Wanted confirmation on that.

Secondly I am sending the following forms initially to Sydney, NS

- Application for permanant residence in Canada
- Schedule 1 Background declaration
- Schedule 3 - Economic Classes - FSW
- Additional Family information

Along with the above forms, I am sending the pp copy showing my details and payment.
Is there anything else I need to send ?

You need to send forms and payment only.

Once they approve then you have to send everything.

Thanks for the reply. But then there is a second part to that question...since the form itself says have you taken the exam. Does it mean that I need to take the exam before I send the relevant forms?

Can someone please explain as to what should I answer to the query ' Have you taken an approved test to assess your proficiency in English or French Language?' Since I havent taken the exam yet and I choose to pick 'No' then the option against this answer is 'Provide evidence of your proficiency in Canada's official language'
This looks like catch 22 situation since I want to take the IELTS exam but not now but if I choose to do that then I have to show evidence of profiicency in Canada official language.
Can someone clarify if I choose to send the form without taking the exam now, then what should I reply
Appreciate a response

you don't have to take the IELTS before submitting your application.

If you're planning to take the IELTS later, just answer no. you can amend that to yes later when you've taken the test and asked to submit your docs to the visa office.

drawback for this is that if you take the IELTS this march and they ask for your documents april of 2010 it will no longer be valid.
