No need for revenue stamp.... Just get all the photocopies attested of all the proofs issued in India... No need to attest letter of acceptance, fee receipt and GIC

Prince, Thank you so much .
Tell the notary that these are for embassy purpose... Then they will also stamp it with "Valid inside/outside India"

Incorrect. You do not need attestation for any visa papers (India).

it is better to have notary attestation, otherwise, they can reject you saying that document was not authentic.

I only had my marksheets(10th, 12th and 8 semester bachelors) attested.
I think this should suffice.

You should say it's better to attest all docs for personal satisfaction, not for VO satisfaction. It's not required because its nowhere mentioned on visa checklist to do so.

Agreed, there is one instruction guide on the CIC website. I can argue CIC instruction guide do not mention about GIC requirement, almost mandatory loan requirement (India), so I should not follow the requirement of GIC. I would be incorrect since I should first check the "country specific visa checklist" to assess what's required and what's not. For "Indian" students, "nothing" is required to be attested. Why would I bother about attestation if I do not find any such requirement in the following visa checklist for "Indian students":

1. SPP: http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/india-inde/visas/checklist-student-SPP-liste-etudes-PPE.aspx
2. Generic: http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/india-inde/visas/checklist-student-general-liste-etudes-generique.aspx
3. University: http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/india-inde/visas/checklist-student-university-liste-etudes-universitaire.aspx

And, even if you look at study permit checklist on the CIC (not CHC) website, you will find nothing is required for the attestation.

1. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5483E.pdf

And if you look at the second last point, you will find there are some specific CHC's that require applicants to submit additional documents, for instance in UK, you are supposed to write 'letter of intent' (SOP).

It's so better to get the docs attested... It won't cost more than 200 bucks... Why take the risk..? My friend got visa without any attestation...
