I am new to this forum. I am planning to apply for Canadian Immigration. I am in USA at present. I will have to file with Canadian Consulate at Buffalo. I do not qualify for simplify application since I am in USA for Over one year. Do I have to send police clearances along with the application? Can I submit the application first and send the papers later when file number is issued? How long the whole process usually takes? Please help me.

hi,

I'm also going to apply from Buffalo as a regular applicant and as far as I know we need to send the police clearance certificates along with the application. Usually it seems it takes 24 to 31 months.

Regards,

If you are applying under the skilled worker category, you should wait to provide your police clearance certificates.

The application process takes a year or more, and since the certificates are only valid for 3 months, you'll have to request them again later.
