Documents needs to be notarized

Hi,

After creating the profile, if we get the ITA and we are asked to upload the documents. Does all the documents, Pay slips, Employment recrods, Reference Letters, Bank Statements, T4's, etc.. all of them have to be notarized before we upload it. And do we have to take any other precuation while submitting the documents.

Your information button on the documents list tells you what is necessary for each document or group of documents in the way of company letterhead, etc. for references and bank letters. Everything not in English or French needs to be translated, and translations need to be notarized. The others don't have to be notarized.

What does it mean for a document to be "notarized"? It's my understanding that Canada doesn't use the apostille, so this is not clear to me.
