On my notice to appear to write a citizenship test and verification of identity documents it states to bring all original documents that support my citizenship application.

This documents include birth certificate. Do i need to translate it ? its not in english language. Also do i need to certify the translation affter?

Or do you think just the original document will suffice.

Thanks

Yes. You must translate your birth certificate and any other required documents they asked for, if not in english, then translate them all in english and certify it before you go.

Person doing Notary will do that.

thanks

Did you read Instruction Guide ?

Translated documents

Any document that is not in English or French (except diplomas or transcripts submitted as proof of language ability) must be accompanied by:

the English or French translation; and
an affidavit from the person who completed the translation.

Note: An affidavit is a document on which the translator has sworn, in the presence of a commissioner authorized to administer oaths in the country in which the translator is living, that the contents of their translation are a true translation and representation of the contents of the original document. Translators who are certified members in good standing of one of the provincial or territorial organizations of translators and interpreters of Canada do not need to supply an affidavit.

Important information. Translations by family members are not acceptable.

Family member is defined as being a: parent, guardian, sibling, spouse, grandparent, child, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew and first cousin.

Original documents may be requested later in the process by an officer. To avoid delays in the processing of your application, please ensure that you have all the original documents available should an officer request to see them.

Your application will be returned to you if you do not include the translation of your documents and an affidavit from the translator.

This instructions are for application when you initially applying for citizenship. I have done all that when i applied. Im talking about originals for my test and interview.
I really dont see the reason to translate and certify that when i already did that. Also in my invitation letter I dont see anything mentioned about translating originals.

Would like to hear from someone who might done their test? Did you translate your docs for the test?
