On returning to Canada, it is the individual’ s responsibility to establish that all the items they are carrying with them to Canada, were not acquired abroad. To assist individuals in meeting this requirement, certain goods may be documented on an identification card (Y38)before leaving Canada. At the time of reimportation, the border services officers will accept this identification card as satisfactory evidence of the origin of the goods.

These articles will be documented on a wallet-sized card called Form Y38, Identification of Articles for Temporary Exportation

This procedure is optional and is provided free of charge at the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) offices across Canada.
Q1). Have you dealt with any CBSA office for this. Please let me know which ones you have contacted for this service and how was their response. All whats the procedure for this.

Q2). How would jewellery be treated on this. I have with me the stamped B4 forms which the customs officials had stamped when we landed in Canada. It has the jewellery pics as well. Would this be enough for the custom officials to fill out the form or for our jewellery they need something else.
