Document translation in Brazil.

Hello,
I am a Canadian living in Brazil and I am submitting an application to sponsor my wife as we are moving to Canada. Is there anyone who has been through the process who could give me some guidance. I just want to know about translating our Portuguese documents. We got certified copies at the cartorio and now I am wondering if translation at a government certified translator is all that is needed. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

I'm Brazilian and I'm applying from Brazil, my husband is my sponsor.
Actually you didn't need to get certified copies at the cartorio. You may take the original document to the certified translator. The translator will keep all the translations you pay for, then if you need another copy later on, you just have to ask him/her and usually they will charge you cheaper for the new copy.
Let's say you take a certified copy of you marriage certificate to the translator, right? Then you submit both the copy and the translation in the application package. Later on, when moving to Canada, your wife should take a copy of the certified translation of the marriage certificate, right? But, as you took to the translation a certified copy, on the translation it will be said that that is a translation of a certified copy. And if you ask for a second copy of the translation of your marriage certificate, it will also say that it is a translation of a copy.

(I know it sounds confusing. It's complicated to explain in English!)

Thanks for your reply. I am curious then, have you submitted your application and it was accepted? I am only worried because my wife thinks the translations that maybe the translations need to be legalized at the Ministerio das Relaçoes Exteriores. And I read the that translator affidavit must be signed in front of a notary. But I think a tranlation from a certifies translator should be good enough, do you think I am correct. Thanks for any advice you can offer.

My husband is also brazilian, but he is a Permanent resident in Canada. He was the one who advised me to take the original documents to the certified translator. I suppose that's how he did when he applied for permanent resident.

They have sent the instructions through mycic. We need to find a doctor from the IRCC list of Panel Physicians in our area (I'm in Brasilia, and there's just one clinic here). Along with the instructions, they have also sent a form, which must be completed and taken to the examination. They ask to bring the passport, glasses and/or contact lenses (if you use it) and any medical reports, test results or prescriptions if you have any medical condition.
They also asked not to wear any make-up
The examination took me an entire morning, but they said it would take a whole day, so I asked for the day off at my job.
Payment had to be made in cash.
