Hi Friends,

I'm in preparation of collecting documents and applying for PR in NOC 2174(Software Engineer). I'm having few questions:

1. Is NOC 2174 is Category A or B? What is minimum IELTS score for this category?

2. Letter of Employment should be recent?
I'm working for same employer since 2+yrs and in the starting they provided me copy of Petition letter with my Job Duties and responsibilities that was submitted to CIC. I m wondering if I can use the same letter as my employer doesn't provide letter with job responsibilities and states only one line: my designation(which is not in list provided in NOC website) & base salary.

Thanks in Advance...

This NOC comes under Level A.

IELTS Requirements :
your test results must match the CLB/NCLC below (see chart):
o 7 or higher for each of the language abilities, or
o 6 for any one of the language abilities, 7 or higher for any other two of those abilities and 8 or higher for the remaining ability,

Refer to the table in the guide Page # 8, to compare CLB vs IELTS scores.

Requires Recent Reference letter, if you are unable to get, provide the prrof that , you requested them and they refused to provide.
and prepare yourself a letter. Designation should not be a problem, primary duties must match.

Hi,

I'm getting 2 reference letters from my current employer:

- One states my current designation, base salary per year and duration of my service with current employer.
- Other states my job duties & responsibilities and positions held in the service.

Both documents are printed on company letterhead BUT provided/signed by 2 different persons.

Will this create any problem if I include these above 2 letters in my application as I'm not getting job duties, responsibilities in the first document itself from my employer.

Please suggest.

Thanks!

@canadianlife, as long as the letters provide all the information they need, it should not matter that it's provided/signed by two different people. Be sure to provide a business card for someone they can contact to verify the information.

My information came from 4 departments within the same company - from IT, HR, right down to my department. In each instance they were signed and dated by the person who provided it.

No, Canadianlife, you are good. Actually this is the correct way to provide letters. I had two letters as well. Well one was letter but the other one was extracted from my employment contract whioch states the resposibilities and duties in reall depth step by step. And that is the key, I must tell you. Once officer see that and match that with your NOC, you are good to go. Assuming you applied in the rigjht category with the correct NOC.

Hope this help you and clear all doubts as I have been thru this process and had like two letters.:)
