Document Checklist

Hello All!

I have a couple questions regarding our document checklist. I am a Canadian citizen sponsoring an American to move to Canada. We are both currently living in the United States and are doing an out land sponsorship. We'll be showing intent to move.

My question is we are using the checklist from IMM 5491 to make sure we have everything we need as well as form IMM 3910 for United States Country Specific. We're also using the guide 3900 to help us step by step.
Does anyone know of any other checklists on the CIC website or any where else that can help us make sure we have everything and we're crossing our t's and dotting our i's?

My other question is from the form 5491 section 17, asking for a Notice of Assessment. Since I do not live in Canada, or have lived there since I began working, I do not have any CRA records. All it asks for is a reason why on a separate sheet of paper.
Can I just explain I moved to the states before I started working? Can I just show them photocopies of my most recent US tax return?

There are no other checklists. Just follow those ones.

Yes, include a letter of explanation stating that you haven't filed taxes in Canada since you have been living in the US.
