Document checklist

Hi everyone,

I am almost finishing up my file, just had a few last minute questions, I am trying to sponsor my wife, now do I have to fill out form No. 3904E or IMM5491E for document checklist, or do I have to fill them out both?
And also I was told if anything doesn't apply to me, I put N/A but where do I put it, there is not enough space where we put the checkmark? Do I just write it next to the question (inside the second column) or do I go across the checkmark box?
Make sense to anybody?
Also can we staple the forms or do we use paperclips or something else?
Do we send them in some sort of file or just normal canada post envelop?

Just want to make it write so the application doesn't return.

Thanks guys,
AK

Hey.. calm down.
I believe you're overwhelmed at the "final" stage.
If I understood your questions, here it goes:
If those forms apply to you, You should fill them out.
You are not supposed to write N/A in the checklist.. just leave it in Blank.
Use paper clips to keep the pages together
Put both ur forms and ur wife's forms in ONE envelop and send it. Canada Post is ok. I sent mine with XpressPost.

Good luck

um, no, actually it IS recommended to write N/A on the checklist, otherwise CIC can assume you left it out and it risks getting your application returned. To the original poster, just write N/A over the checkbox. it is ok if it takes up more room on the paper than the checkbox does.

Sorry about that.. I just said I did on mine.
Hopefully it won't be returned.

So when you fill the forms out on line it will not allow you to type N/A. Should I go back through all aspects of the application and write N/A in? Thank you!!

Yes just write N/A in pen if it wont let you type. Use paper clips and track your application if you send it via Canada post.Make sure you put outland somewhere on the envelope. Some forum members have had it mistaken for an inland application.

Thanks guys for the replies, though I am confused about this inland/outland thing. What is it? I am applying from within Canada, so what do I write or do I have to write?

the wife didn't want to put NA because it didn't say to... she also wanted to put it in multiple envelopes...

If you are applying inland that is within Canada . Outland is when someone is applying from outside of Canada and not withing Canada . Now i say that but you can still be in Canada and apply outland. For some this is a great idea because it is quicker than within Canada .

To make you feel better, I didn't write NA on the checklists either, wherever it said "is applicable", and hey never asked for anything in addition, and my application is at the final stage now. Maybe I am just lucky, but if you have a strong application, I don't think it will matter much.

Also, multiple envelopes are fine, as long as you DON"T STAPLE anything, and you put all of those envelopes in a big one and send all together. I used plastic file folders in the same manner.
