Took the trip up to Calgary today to get my husband's medical done again. We went through a doctor who was set up for e-Medical and the receptionist told us it would be sent automatically to CIC once the lab results come in. We kept our receipts just in case. Should we send a case specific inquiry through the online tool with some scans of our receipts just to be safe? How will we know that they received the medical? Basically, is there anything we need to do from this point on, or are we good to go? Should we expect some kind of communication from CIC once they receive the medical, or just keep waiting for a decision made and keep our fingers crossed that we don't need to do an interview?

I forgot to add - the email we got from CIC said this:

It has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent residence as
a member of the Spouse or Common-Law Partner in Canada Class. Please note that a final decision
will not be made until all remaining requirements for becoming a permanent resident have been met.
These requirements include medical, security and background checks for you and, if applicable, all of
your family members, both in Canada and abroad, even if they are not applying to join you in Canada
at this time. You cannot become a permanent resident until you and all your family members have
met these requirements.

In order to continue processing your application, further information is required. You must
complete/submit the following to this office:

> Medical: We require proof of completion of a new Immigration medical examination,
instructions have been emailed separately. This must be received at this office by: 2016/06/15

All requested documents/information and a copy of this correspondence must be submitted within the
timeframes specified above (formatted as “year/month/day”). If you are unable to provide any or all of
the requested documents/information, please explain why they are not available. Failure to provide
the required documents may result in the refusal of your application for permanent residence. Should
this occur, no further consideration will be given to your request for permanent residence unless a
new application, including fees, is submitted.

Please send the requested information / document(s) and all future inquiries with respect to
your application via the Case Specific Enquiry form at the following link:
https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx.
IMPORTANT: Passports for yourself and your family members must be valid for the duration of your
stay in Canada.
So it seems like I should include scans of our receipts from the medical as well as a copy of the PDF that CIC sent us, with a note saying the medical was completed at an office that is set up for e-Medical. Does that sound about right?? Also, this is definitely our AIP email, correct?

Yes, send a CSE with a copy of the receipt.

No, they won't communicate with you about receiving the medical. You may get a reply to the CSE.

Great, thank you very much! Since he received AIP already, would it be safe to assume that the medical will be the last thing they need from us before approving our application? Would they have asked for additional background checks at the same time if they needed it?

Were you requested to redo the medical?? And yes, medical is last, you will have been passed on everything else pending medical results you should be nearing the end. It took about 3 weeks for us to receive ppr after remeds.

Yes, his AIP email asked for a new medical. We got it done on the 25th and sent them the receipts through a case specific enquiry today. Hopefully that means we're in the home stretch!

I'll honestly be amazed if we get a decision made that quickly. We were expecting to wait another year at least.
