Hi everyone, im hoping someone can help me with my question. Im a filipina with 2 kids from my previous relationship. I am married now to a Canadian citizen. We are working on our sponsorship for spousal visa at the moment. Do we need to fill up the DECLARATION FROM NON-ACCOMPANYING PARENT/GUARDIAN FOR MINORS IMMIGRATING TO CANADA form?Do I really need my ex consent before I can bring my kids with me to Canada? My kids are 9 and 8 yrs old. And iv been a solo parent since 2008.Our local municipal told me that i wont be needing his consent anymore, which I believed. But then again my husband and I got confused upon seeing this form. Pls help us, we need answers before we submit our application. THANK YOU

Yes, you will need to have your exes 'permission' to bring your children to Canada.

If he will not give his consent you may be able to get a court order that you be permitted to take them to Canada; but try your ex first and if he refuses consult a lawyer.
