do i need to tell CIC that i am going to renew my passport?

I applied for my PR under CEC, I receipt my AOR on july 2nd. Now i want to change my passport because my passport is expiring in 8 months.
Do I need to tell CEC?
If I do? When and how? Or when they ask for my Passport, i just send them both of my passport with an explanation? thanks!

You have nothing to say and CIC has nothing to do without having the new passport in hand. So, renew your passport, then raise a CSE (case-specific enquiry) to update your new passport information.
