Do I need to submit my proof of marital status when sponsoring my mother

My mother's country-specific requirements state the following:

If you hold a passport from this country, you and your family members included in the application must provide:

• Proof of marital status for children 16 years of age and older.

I am my mother's only child and I am the sponsor, do I still need to provide my proof of marital status? I didn't find a place in Canada that can issue a certificate of single status....>_<
