I have applied through spousal sponsorship, I have never received any acknowledgement of receipt but the cic website says my application was received on 22nd of August 2016 and my medical results have been received. I can only assume its waiting to be processed

My current work permit expires in June 2017. Will I be on implied status or do I have to extend my work permit. I'm not currently working as I have a baby to look after and another on the way. If I do have to keep my status legal can I become a visitor? I applied inland so its best not to leave the country until I'm approved/denied I've read, so am assuming going to the border isn't really an option?

Thanks for any help with this :)

did you submit an application for the inland Open Work Permit along with your PR application?

No I didn't, should I be doing that now?

Applying for PR does not grant status. If you aren't going to be working, just apply in May to change your status to visitor.
