Do I need to open bank account in Canada before arrival?

Just wanted to ask a question regarding proof of funding in my visa application.

Is it better and more appealing for visa officers if I open a canadian bank account and transfer my money to it and have bank statement issued as a proof of funding?

No. Visa officers don’t care if you have an Canadian bank account. How can you open a bank account without a SIN number, study permit etc?

I found an ad on google from bank called “scotia bank” says I can open it overseas

You can if you want but it makes no difference. What are the requirements because you can if you have COPR or a approved study permit?

Yes, and did you even read the Scotia Bank requirements? You probably need an approved study permit to even ope the account.

Oh I didn’t know that I thought my acceptance would be sufficient for them.
