Do i need to extend my visa or only study permit is fine to stay???

My visa and study permit both were expiring in December and i just got my study permit extension (Bridge Extension expiring 90 days after last class in march). Some one told me that I don't need visa my study permit is legal document allowing me to stay in Canada, i would need visa only if i wants to travel out of Canada and re-enter in Canada.
Could anyone help me here??

Yes, that someone who told you that is correct. The study permit is a status document authorizing you to study and stay in Canada until the date of expiry on the study permit. The visa is a travel document and is used to enter/re-enter Canada.
