Hi
here is my situation i am applying inland for spousal sponsorship and PR, I have a step children, a son, and a wife all of them are canadian citizens. do i need to list anyone as dependents ?

also a second question
I've applied for an extension before my status runs out and i am sending in PR and work visa soon but it will be a couple months before they decide on the extension. if for some reason they deny the extension will it effect my implied status from the work visa app?

you are may be the applicant and your wife is the sponsor ryt? if so, and if your wife has canadian citizen children, you dont need to include them in your application
and if you have children of your own, then you have to include them as dependents

listing dependants in the application is only for a spouse or children who are not already canadian citizens/need to become PRs of Canada. so no, you don't list any of your family members as dependants. you are the only applicant applying for PR. however, you need to list them on the additional family information form.

implied status allows a foreign worker, international student or visitor holder who has filed an application to extend his/her status, to remain in Canada on the terms of the original status until CIC makes a decision on the extension application. in other words, a foreign worker can continue to work, an international student can continue to study, and a visitor can continue to reside in Canada with the legal status as the expired document while the extension application is processed. but, in order to take advantage of implied status, you are required to file the extension application before your current one expires. if you don't, implied status doesn't exist.

if you are wondering about implied status because you are filing inland, hopefully someone with more experience can give you some information. we applied outland so i don't know a lot about the process besides the basics.

you dont need to include your son as a dependent of yours but in the Additional Family Information Form
