do i need reference letter for my part time non-skilled job?

Hello Friends,

I have a 3-year diploma in electrical engineering. and I am currently working as Inside technical sales representative. which come under NOC 6221. I have already completed a year (more than 1950hrs) at this position.
I have got 7 bands in IELTS. Listening 8, speaking 7, reading 7.5, writing 5.5
Will that be good?

but, The checklist asks for employment letters from past and current employers for the last 3 years.
I have worked in a subway restaurant for 2 year as a part-time job while I was studying.
do i need to get a reference letter from the subway employer too?

Yes, because the job falls within the past 3 years.

Although it is good to provide it, I personally don't think it is necessary unless you are claiming it as "experience" towards your application. I would advise against claiming such jobs as experience though. You have a valid status of being a student at that point and so you would have no gaps in your application either. I worked many such jobs being a student. Didn't claim any of them as they weren't in the skill categories required for CEC.

I agree with that. Personally, I have just included the T4s but for the job/s as a student, I wrote an explanation for not including reference as-
As per CIC website, Work experience gained during your studies does not count toward meeting the requirements for work experience. Only work experience gained after graduation can be counted....

Yup. Please DO NOT make assumption about anything in application..i.e do mention in case you are not sure about something in application and then explain your approach. It won't take much time to write it.

I will request a job reference letter from Subway..hopefully i will get one...also they had my T4 and checks under two different company names..so I guess I will have to get two different letters.
