Hello all,

I am planning to go for a vacation in the Philippines this September 2015. However, I would like to make sure though if I really need a re-entry visa since I am only a TFW under live-in caregiver program. My visa will expire on March 2016 and work permit on April 2016. Kindly enlighten me... God bless..:)

Please check your visa counterfoil - if it is multiple entry, then you do not need a re-entry visa.

If is it single entry only, and this is what you used to initially come to Canada, then it is not anymore valid (single entry only). You need to apply for a re-entry visa in this case.

Given the length of time on the visa you have - it is likely multiple entry.

You are good to go on vacation, but you need to prepare for what you need to exit the PH.

1. Important: Secure a letter from your employers - indicating:
- you are currently employed with them
- you are going on a vacation from <date> to <date> and coming back after your vacation to resume employment
This letter is not relevant leaving Canada, but will be used to get the OEC/exit clearances to exit the PH as a worker. It is proof you have not voluntarily terminated your employment, and is just a vacationing worker.
2. Bring your Canada-issued IDs (i.e. DL, province ID) - they serve as added proof of current residence. Just make sure you secure them and bring them out only when needed.
3. Bring a copy of your employment agreement/contract
4. Make copies of your IDs and docs - you will have to provide them when applying for exit clearance from the PH.
5. Search through the POEA web - especially the BMP http://www.poea.gov.ph/balik/bm_online_faq.htm to see options in getting the exit clearance.

.../all the best and have a nice vacation
