Hello everyone !.. I need some guidance.

I am working in Vancouver, Canada on an indefinate contract. I came to India in May 2017 on vacation/sabbatical and have been in India till Dec 2017 (for more than 183 days). I need to fly back to vancouver and join my duty on 15th Jan '18. My flight to vancouver leaves on 11th Jan '18.

I have the following documents with me;
1) A valid passport,
2) Multiple entry Temporary resident visa (Procured in Sept 2017, Valid till 2019)
3) Work permit (Processed in March 2017 in canada Valid till 2019)
4) Offer letter and Employment Verification.

I wish to know if I still need to get the following
1) Police clearance / verification certificate
2) Medical examination certificate

Please confirm if there are any other documents that I need to procure before I begin my journey back to vancouver.

Awaiting earnest reply

You do not either a police certificate or a medical certificate to travel back, those are only required during any immigration process not after anyone has successfully completed such a process.

Given you are still only a temporary resident you should still expect CBSA to ask you standard temp resident questions but you should be fine as you have your TRV and work permit so have a reason for being in Canada.

Thank you dear .. i was told the same by a lawyer friend, but i was not sure as the site said anyone staying out of canada for more than 183days must get a exam and police clearance

He said you must still reconfirm from embassy, but i doubt if there is a way to call delhi canadian embassy directly .. i wrote to delhi immigration email id but their standard reply said ill have to wait for 30 days for clarity

I just read this answer here in link below and have to admit as with many CIC answers it is very vague given it implies entering the country after a temporary stay 6 months or more in a listed country need a medical.

Whether that really applies on an ongoing basis seems unlikely given never heard it mentioned for PRs for example who have been away in a listed country for years and come back given they would be subject to same exposure in that country as a temp resident returning.

Ultimately unless someone says they have been in listed country such as India for 6 months or more in previous 12 months how would anyone know at the border and what would CBSA do anyway ?.

Personally if were me I wouldn't worry about it but is not me travelling and the below link seems more specific to new applicants applying to enter the country.

So have to defer to other forum members for a comment.
