Do I need educational credential assessment?

I have a question that I haven't read in this forum:

Do you need to run your educational credential assessment?

I'm a certified public accountant working in the US since 2000. I already translate my educational credentials to English, this will help to get a job?

If I need the assessment which companies do you recommend?

a) ICAS http://icascanada.ca/home.php

b) WES http://www.wes.org/ca/

c) CERTinfo http://www.alis.gov.ab.ca/certinfo/Content/RequestAction.asp?format=html&aspAction=GetCERTHomePage&Page=CERTHome

I read not very good things about WES.

Any comments?

Wait and see if somebody asks you to get it and then which one they require. I was once asked by a college to get iqas alberta, see http://employment.alberta.ca/cps/rde/xchg/hre/hs.xsl/4512.html but I convinced them I didn't need it.

So depend of the employer he can accept my translations or ask me for the assessment right?

Thank you Leon I'm ready to do the assessment now, but in that case I save my money for better things and wait and see.
