Do I need biometric for a visitor extension?

I'm from Italy and I came to Canada in 2018, I have a visitor record that expires in April and I would like to know if I need biometrics to apply for a visitor extension.
The website said that I don’t need biometric it I am from a visa exempt country (?) but the information is not very clear.

No, you don't have to give biometrics if you hold Italian passport.

Hi I'm from the Phillipines.

I'm already inside canada as a visitor, i entered last December and I submit my apllication for open work permit and extension for visitor.

Do i need to give my biometrics because this is what bothers me.

Not for a visitor extension if you are in Canada.

Yes for an open work permit. You will need to leave Canada to do so.
