Do I need a US visa if I want to cross the border for landing purposes?

Planning to do landing at either Rainbow bridge or Peace Bridge.

I believe that unless you are from a Visa Exempt country, you need a US visa every time you go to the US.

You do not need a US visa to do landing. You just need to tell the officer at US entry gate that you are here for landing/flagpole for Canadian PR. You will be given an informal refusal of entry to US and then sent to Canadian Entry gate. This is only true if you are doing flagpoling via Land.

I dont have a US visa and I am going for landing this Friday.

Please let me know how it goes. I am planning on going this Saturday. I was all set until someone mentioned that you can't go unless you have a valid US visa and put a doubt in my mind.

No need for US visa. I already landed by crossing the border without US visa. Just tell the officer that u r flagpoling.
