Do I need a eTA

Hy, I got visa in my passport in October last year, and I will land in Canada on 24th April. In the meantime CIC say that all visitors need to get eTA with few exceptions. But it is, for me at least, unclear. Do I need eTA, and if I get eTA, did I do some damage?

What visa are you on?
If you're not a Permanent Resident you will need eTA. It's cheap and easy to get online and I shouldn't do any damage for you.

From what I read eTA is for all visa exempt contry except USA. If you need a visa and have the visa you dont need eta.

I have IM-1 visa in my passport, and I am not permanent resident, I will be after lend in canada.
