Do i need a divorce?

I was married in Philippines and seperated shortly after, my marriage was never registered in canada, do i need to file for a divorce in canada or is the marriage even recognized?

You are legally married in the Philippines. The fact that it was not registered in Canada does not make it invalid. You need a divorce from that marriage.
