Do I have to show proof of funds if I'm on my work permit?

Hi everyone,

I wanted to ask you if I need to show proof of funds if I'm currently on my work permit.

CIC website says those who are authprisau to work in canada, don't need to show proof of funds.

I'm not sure if they mean by people who are in open work permit.

Please advise.

You don't need to show proof of funds if applying under CEC
If you have an open permit but apply under FSW or FST, then you need proof of funds

Hi, thanks for your reply. I have 3 years of work exp from India and i studied 2 years in canada. im thinking not to wait for canadian work experience and try for EE. so i was wondering if i would need to show proof of funds?

If you are in Canada, and employed, you do not need to show PoF, i.e. you don’t need to show that you have enough money to support yourself and your family to meet the program requirements of the Canadian Experience Class (this includes provincial nominees who are part of the CEC stream).

Please note that you will have to get 8,7,7,7 in L,R,W,S of IELTS to qualify, I recently qualified like that only.

Since you will be applying on the behalf of your Indian work experience and not Canadian, you will need to show the proof of funds

If you are in Canada, and employed, you do not need to show PoF, i.e. you don’t need to show that you have enough money to support yourself and your family to meet the program requirements of the Canadian Experience Class (this includes provincial nominees who are part of the CEC stream).

He says he doesn't want to wait for CEC, which means he wants to go for FSW. In this case, he needs PoF.
