Hi,

I am trying to use NOC 2174 (interactive media developer) occupation to apply for FSWP. My employer uses title "Rich Media Developer" to describe this type of occupation. However, job title "Rich media developer" is not one of the recommended titles for NOC 2174 by CIC....

So my question is whether I must use the recommended titles (i.e. interactive media developer) for my case? Or I can continue to use my official title "Rich Media Developer"?

I think my duties for my job 100% matches what occupation "interactive media developer" wants. But this title thing really confuses me....

Any advice???

Thanks a bunch.

It's all about the duties.

Your occupation can be an Interactive Media Developer, and the items on your job reference can be similar to most of those described in the NOC (but don't copy them!), but your job title can be something different.

It's OK and totally normal.

The duties AND the lead statement (this is very important).

But the title itself is not so important.

Please note that 2174 looks to be the single most popular NOC and we have over 50 people applied on this forum alone for that NOC, with a worldwide cap of 300. The cap for 2174 is now pretty much guaranteed to already be full (probably several times over), so I would focus on maybe trying to see if you have experience in one of the less popular NOCs (2174, 2147 and 1112 are probably all full by now) or perhaps look at securing a job offer with a Canadian employer.

Hi

When you say duties and "Lead Statement". Can you please explain what is meant by Lead statement?

Thanks
NM
