could anyone tell me if we do not follow through with the medical or pay the fees (i.e. Cancel our PR application) are we able to stay in canada until our bridging permit expires or do we have to leave straight away? please any help would be greatly appreciated.xx

Yes you can stay until your BOWP expires.
