Do I have to leave Canada while my Work Permit application is in progress?

Hi,

I just graduated and will be applying for PGWP after I receive my letter of graduation. The issue is my Passport is expiring on 9th September 2020 and my TRV also expires along with my Study Permit. I have gotten a new passport and will be applying for PGWP with that new passport. According to the Study Permit it says that I must leave Canada by 9th September 2020. If I apply for PGWP till 20th June and it take 3 months to get the answer can I stay even though my Study permit and TRV expires on 9th September or do I have to leave Canada? As if it takes 3 months then I would probably be getting a reply back by 20th or the end of September.

Also when applying for PGWP do I provide both the old and new passport in the Passport upload documents like making a single PDF with the new passport first and then the old passport and TRVs and stamps.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ammar

If the expiry of your study permit were the end of your business in Canada you'd have to leave by Sep 9 . . . sort of . . . but since you're applying for a PGWP your new status as a worker will carry you in to the future. The expiry of your visitor visa has nothing to do with anything. Your status in Canada is tied to your study/work permit situation. Your TRV is only an entry document. Once you've entered it has nothing to do with how long you can stay in Canada.
Anyway, no you don't have to leave Canada.
And your new passport is enough. You don't have to submit your old one.
