Do i have to go home to my my home country when they request for my passport?

I'm here in Canada right now with a visitors visa but we have an ongoing outland Spousal Sponsorship application .When the time comes that they will request for my passport, will it be possible for me to just send my passport to them through courier and stay here in Canada?

I'm on the same spreadsheet with you the same month our application sent off. no worries too much, just stay in Canada as I'm doing what you are doing right now. I have also applied for the visitor extension too as I told them I planned to come spending the summer with my fiancee but during that time I received the passport request so I sent off my passport. I would like to extend my stay in Canada until my visa decision is made. Just need to do everything according to their rules, no over stay. I have seen many people like us staying in Canada while the PR is processing. Good luck to all of us! I cant wait to get the PR and go having my normal life back. ;D
