Do I have get an Indian visa or exit permit is enough?

Hello Everyone,
I'm currently located in India. I got my Canadian passport and applied for surrender certificate. I'll be staying in India for another 5 months.

1. So, do I have get an Indian entry visa for my stay in India or just an exit permit is sufficient?
2. Will there be a consequences of my stay in India without an OCI application or Indian Entry X visa and just with an Exit permit?
3. If I do get my Exit permit in another 1-2 months, can I use it to exit India at 5th month?

PS: I don't think I have enough time to apply for Indian visa (just for the sake of getting an OCI) and get my OCI.
