Hi all .. I see that some applicants who have submitted application one month after my family application have already taken the oath or at least got their citizenship test clear through Ottawa office!
I spoke with call center three times so far during the last couple of months and the same answer is that everything is ok and the application is just in a que to schedule me and my wife for the test!
I wonder if this is because my application is a family class?? below is my timeline:

Application received by CIC on October 3rd 2013
Started Processing December 6th 2013
AOR and Discover Canada sent to me by December 6th 2013
Transferred to local office by March 10th 2014

Any thoughts?

Any thoughts from people here???

I can speak only from my friends experience but may not be the same for majority. In his case his wife did not have enough documents as she was homemaker. She also visited their home country every year for a month or so. So She received RQ and his paper was processed for a test. In his interview asked the officer why his wife was not given a test date. Officer replied that the file has been separated and her process will be delayed. He did not give any further details on the same. She did not get her test date yet.

Very difficult to say either way.

We applied as a family in Feb 2014 and have our oath ceremony next week. So our process as a family took us about 6 months from start to finish.

Lots of individual applications take way longer than that, so no way to predict which is faster.
