Very Urgent !

Dear members

As my husband is sponsoring our daughter who is 10 month old, and her file is udner process at CIC-New Delhi.
but couple of days ago they sent us email asking for DNA test.

We would like to go for the DNA test as soon as possible in order to avoid delay ,but the problem is that I am in Afghanistan with the child and my husband is in Toronot. He can go for DNA test in Toronto easily but CIC-Delhi asked that the child should go for DNA test to India. I already recieved my visa from CHC-Islamabad which will expire in Feb 2017. It is hard for me to go to India alone with the child also getting visa and travel arrangments will take long time.

I like to find answers for the following questions:

1- Does the DNA test should be done in a center specified by CIC or it can be done in any center?
2-Can I do my daughter DNA test in Kabul,Afghanistan?
3-what if my husband refuse the DNA test due to uncomfortable circumstances?
4-after the DNA result is recieved how long more it needs that CIC decides about the case?

I would really like to hear your views on this as soon as possible.

thanks

You need to talk to a good lawyer immediately.

Firstly, the child is YOUR dependent as YOU are the person being sponsored. Therefore the child must be part of your own application. Therefore, DNA testing is irrelevant. Your husband does not have to be biologically related to the child.

Secondly, the child doesn't need to be sponsored at all, as you have not yet "landed" as a PR, therefore your application is NOT yet completed. Insist that IRCC include the child in the uncompleted application.

Thanks for your reply. no I am not being sponsored by my husband. we were already married when my husband claimed as refugee in Canada in late 2011. but the child was born after my husband recieved his PR and CIC-Islamabad told us that the baby could not added to my file which was under process. she must be sponsored by her father via CPC-Mississagua. After initial approval it was transfered to CIC-New Delhi. my husband sent all documents but now they say DNA needed.

thanks

thanks for reply. no it is not family sponsorship case.

my concern is that I have already recieved my visa from CHC-Islamabad which is valid till Feb 2017.

so:
-how long does it take that the embassy get the DNA result?
-how long it takes that CIC make decison after DNA result is recieved?

thanks

Hi everyone again

just to update on our situation. we recieved email from CIC-Islamabad asking me and my daughter to come for DNA test to Islamabad. it is bit strange the email for DNA test we recieved from CIC-New Delhi becuase my daughter sponsorship application is at New Delhi. but this email came from Islamabad.

The clinic in Toronto where my husband went for DNA test that clinic sent email to CIC-New Dehli and cced CIC-Islamabad too.
and the clinic aslo said that CIC-New Delhi is very slow in terms of giving appointment date, at least after 6 months.

anyone has done DNA test at CIC-Islamabad ? will highly appreciate if you could share views and experiences.

Does this show that our daugther sponsorship application is in its last stage?

thanks
