Hi i am an international student in Winnipeg.
I was a student in CMU from Jan 2019 to April 2020. I planned to change to a diploma school called MITT in May 2020. I changed my DLI before May. However that is when covid hit and my program at MITT got cancelled. I was given an option to take a program that starts in August. I changed my DLI to my former uni CMU because i didn't want to be "school-less". I even took some summer courses that i later dropped. My issue is that i worked full time from June to August but I assume it would be safe to do so as I changed my DLI to my former uni and I was under the status of full- time student. I even called IRCC and spoke to an agent that verified my status. So i worked in the summers full time. By the time August arrived and I was confirmed that my new program at new school is still a go in this pandemic. I changed my DLI and ceased working. I am just a bit worried whether I have done anything wrong or illegal here.

If you’re on an authorized leave
If you’re on an authorized leave from your studies, or you’re switching schools and you’re not studying, you can’t work off-campus. You can only return to work once you’re back to studying.

But I was under my former school's DLI and I was considered a full-time student under them. I changed my DLI once my new program was confirmed to be going through. And i ceased working when i changed my DLI

There you go. Your question is answered, there is nothing illegal you did.
