DL extract question

Hi. My Indian DL extract that I had got from India expired, it's 8.5 months old and it's only valid for 6 months. How do I get another DL extract because I'm currently in Canada. Or how do I renew my DL extract? What are my options at this point? Please help. Thanks.

How did you know that DL extract is valid only 6 months?
Mine does not say expiry date anywhere.
