I was wondering if anybody has experience with applying for an uncontested divorce to a Jamaican citizen.
Here is my story: Have known my ex husband for 7 years, got married in October 2018 in Jamaica, separated in March 2019. We have never lived together, I live in Canada and he lives in Jamaica. I am looking for a divorce. He has 2 kids of his own and I have my own child as well. (other biological parents are involved)
Do I still need to be separated for a year prior of completing the petition to divorce? Do we need to serve him papers or can it be mailed by certified mail?
If anybody has experience id like to know before I proceed with hiring a lawyer.
