Good day everyone! I have a few questions and am hoping someone can help me.
I am a naturalized canadian citizen, i divorced my ex husband before i applied for permanent residence in 2010. He is in the Philippines. I am fully aware that divorce is not recognize in the Philippines. I am currently on a relationship for almost 12 years now. He is married too but his annulment will be finalized this month. Our relationship i consider as husband and wife now, only lacking the wedding rites or marriage papers. Our family and friends are both aware and his kids to his first wife. We are planning to get married in hong kong this sept or october. My question is, how much time do we need to give our notice For intended marriage? Anybody here has gone through the process of marrying in Hong Kong? I have visited their website but i am still confused. Pardon me. If we want to get married either in Sept or October, when do we give the notice for intended marriage? We just want a simple wedding, nothing extravagant as long as it is legal and recognized by canadian law.
Do we have to report our marriage to the Philippine consulate? I have read in one of the the posts that since it is Canadian Embassy or immigration that will process our application, there will be no need to report it. As long as we submit the marriage certificate and my divorce certificate, that should be fine?
Any thoughts anyone? Thanks!! God Bless everyone!
