Me and my wife landed almost one and half year before in Canada as PR category. I am principal applicant. Recently my wife went to back home and get divorce me. Now I have some concern which I'd like to share and seek your suggestion please:

1. Is there any problem to get citizenship for any of us?

2. As my wife is PR of Canada, back home divorce is applicable? I mean, Does she need to get divorce in Canada?

3. As she is dependent, Is there any way to challenge her to stop her PR?

4. How and where to submit divorce paper in Canada?

4. In case of 2nd marriage in future, Can I sponsor my 2nd wife from my home country? Is this any complicated matter?

Please give your feed back & suggestion.

1 - No, not as long you as you meet requirements

2 - As long as the divorce is legal in her home country, Canada will recognize it

3 - If she's already landed, probably nothing you can do. If you feel she defrauded you, you can contact CIC and tell them, but it's unlikely she would lose her PR that way. However, if she stays in her home country, she could lose her PR over time by not meeting residency requirements.

4 - Divorce procedure varies by province.

5 - Yes, you can sponsor another wife from your home country. However, you will undergo extra scrutiny, especially if you marry again quickly. If you marry right away and sponsor a new wife, it may look like you are committing fraud or have committed fraud. It will depend on the VO that processes your application... don't worry so much about this now. Deal with your current situation, then worry about the next step.

Thanks amikety for your informative reply. Should I inform CIC right way regarding divorce matter or I have to wait? Pls let me know.

No - you don't have to inform CIC about the divorce.

However if you decide to sponsor another wife in the future, you will have to include proof of your divorce in the application.

Canada may not recognize the divorce. From the divorce Act.

Recognition of foreign divorce

22. (1) A divorce granted, on or after the coming into force of this Act, pursuant to a law of a country or subdivision of a country other than Canada by a tribunal or other authority having jurisdiction to do so shall be recognized for all purposes of determining the marital status in Canada of any person, if either former spouse was ordinarily resident in that country or subdivision for at least one year immediately preceding the commencement of proceedings for the divorce.
