It all depends on how serious. To have some irregularities of the thyroid and have to take medication for it is not a big deal. A lot of people have that.

A blood pressure that is a bit over the limit may not be a problem either. I had high blood pressure when I applied. I had to go to a cardiologist and get an electrocardiogram to prove that my high blood pressure was not caused by a heart problem.

A slipped disk might not be a problem but if it's very bad and requires surgery in the near future, the person could be denied.

Canada doesn't deny people for being overweight as far as I know but losing weight can help the person get rid of some of their other problems, for example it may bring down the blood pressure, alleviate the joint pain and lower stress on the slip disk.

Very unlikely. Hypothyroid is easily controlled by low cost medication. It is fairly common.

yes, hypothyroidism or any other disease which could not be a burden on canadian economy is cosidered a normal case and is not a hurdle in MR.

Take your medication as prescribed and when you have your medical, if the doctor asks what medication you are on, tell them. It is really not a problem.

relax... they don't do a test for thyroids (e.g. tsh etc). so even if you don't declare, they will not come to know. having said that, even if you declare, they will not reject you because of this. it's a common condition mostly in females. my spouse is having the same condition. we cleared the medical and have received our passport request.

Thank you Ja77,have you declrared about your spouse thyroids? I'd rather not to declare about that, because really it is not a serious problem as my doctor told me.
Thanks guys. I am really excited and I can't wait for my passport request time :)
