NOC Code......

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hi guys:
I have been following this forum for many months and this is my first post, any advice or recommendation will be greatly appreciated!
Here is my situation: I graduated from university with a bachelor degree in materials engineering in May. 2015. In 2015 mid-September I was fortunate to get a technical job related to my background (NOC-2143 Mining Engineer). The company is fantastic until they had to lay me off due to the gloomy industry outlook in late Apr. 2016. I was struggling to find any related jobs in mining for almost 7 months and then, in Nov. 2016 one of my friends told me there was a vacant position in his company and it is completely irrelevant from what my major is. The company is a small cleaning supply firm and the owner agreed to offer me a position of NOC6222(Retail and Wholesale Buyer) since my previous position includes some tasks in sales aspect, e.g: find potential clients, generate cost estimate report, conduct pre-sales introduction etc. At the end of March I will gain 1 year of work experience and therefore, plan to create an EE profile in a month and apply under CEC category(by that time I will have a CRS of 439 points)
My concern is:
1. I talked to my previous supervisor and he is willing to coordinate me with any changes on job tile or duties. We have come to an agreement that instead of using NOC-2143(Mining Engineer), I will use NOC-6221(Technical Sales Rep.) as my previous work title and he is willing to rewrite the job offer to accommodate this change. To me I think since I did some sales work and NOC6221 is closer to my current title 6222, 6221 should be somewhat better than mining engineer, please advice.
2. I have seem some people in the forum who either got laid off or quit themselves to find a new job and they are able to claim the 1 year accumulated work experience point (40 points) when filing the application, but most of these people are able to get a job in one month or shorter. I have a huge gap between two jobs, am I still eligible for claiming that 40 points of 1 year experience?

Please advice since I am pretty anxious and lost now, if I can not get that 40 points that means I have to figure something else. Smiley Smiley Smiley
