Hi guys.
I have an arrest in my past that does not show on my police check - the police cjeck says "no trace" which means no record of anything. I was not charged, cautioned, or anything else. I was released, and I have a clean record.
I FULLY intend to disclose this arrest in my spouse-sponsored PR/OWP applications.
My issue - I did not disclose this arrest on my IEC application, which is how I came to Canada initially. I did this not because I wanted to deceive anyone, but because I read that arrests that did not lead to convictions had been expunged from police records in my country.
I can only say that I am an idiot. I should have been open about the arrest.
My question - will this lead to an automatic denial of permanent residence? I want to be as open and honest as possible, so whatever response I get here, I will be disclosing the arrest.
Advice would be very much appreciated.
